Welcome to Caroline"s Closet!

Thanks for visiting! Here, you will find a sampling of the clothes I've made for my daughter, Caroline, and my clients. I love to hear what people think about my designs and I love to hear about what you are sewing! While I am no longer able to accept orders for custom sewing, I'll try to continue to post recently completed projects.

Happy sewing!

Valentine's Dress

I like to make fun, casual holiday themed outfits that Caroline can wear to school. She seems to get such a kick out of, literally, wearing her holiday spirit on her sleeve! Valentine's Day is a favorite because Caroline seems to have such an affinity for hearts of any kind. She has just recently learned how to draw a heart and so it is a frequent motif in her artwork. When I saw this fabric, I had to get it for her Valentine's dress this year. It reminds me of candy conversation hearts! The pattern is Macy, by Children's Corner and the fabric, a cotton waffle pique, is from Heirloom Imports. I need to get a picture of Caroline wearing this dress because, on the hanger, it doesn't appear to have much shape. It does cinch in at the waist a bit and the skirt has a slightly a-line silhouette. We plan to complete this outfit with a white turtleneck (unless we get some early spring weather), white tights and red English sandals. She will certainly be a sweet little Valentine in this ensemble!
